Awesome Greetings Cards in Sainsbury's

Hi there,

I've got a bit of card inspiration for you today. I've been a huge fan of cards since I was a teenager. I tend to think of them as mini art pieces and like to display them on the wall. Choosing a beautiful card for somebody is a real pleasure for me. I find it really disappointing if I'm in a rush to buy one and I'm presented with a poor choice. I'd like to say that happens rarely but the truth is I'm forgetful and often have to do a supermarket dash. I'm not usually a fan of humour cards (unless they're personalised) as they're often quite tacky looking. Fortunately there are now plenty of cards that have a funny statements paired with a quirky illustration or fantastic typeface/font.

Whilst doing a food shop the other day I decided to be organised and stock up on a few cards for some upcoming birthdays and I was delighted to find such an awesome selection of cards in Sainsburys. I've been a fan of their cards for a long time but was really impressed on this visit when I found whole stands of cards that I liked! I did splurge a bit and bought several for myself.

My favourite of all of the cards was this one below. It's perfect for my bezzies or the "trouts" as we affectionately call each other. It's from a range by Carlton Cards called "Little Voice". The selection includes humour and beautiful sentiments. Their cards also come with lovely patterned and illustrated enevelopes. That's attention to detail that I love. Why should envelopes be boring? Instead, think of them as the giftwrap for your card.

The ranges that I particualrly liked were from Hammond & Gower, Carlton Cards "Little Voice", Montage and Sainsbury's own designs.

These Montage's cards have a luxury vintage feel with beautiful foil stamp detailing, embossing and tip-ons. I bought a lovely feather design too that I'll upload later.

I love these Pigment cards. Here's a link to their website where you'll find the full range and much better images! I'm afraid every single one of these sentiments applies to me!

These are Sainsbury's own and they're so bright and cheeful. There is a fun statement for every occasion. There are several diffent types of dogs for you dog lovers and these retro floral designs are lovely. I bought a few of these to display on my wall.

I'm not sure who this lovely card is by but I'll check soon and edit. It's not easy to buy a card for somebody who has suffered a loss. Those cards are often quite bleak/awkward and whilst I'm sure that the person receiving it will be more concerned with the thought, this card just feels honest and peaceful.

These cards by Hammond Gower are really simple and understated but really cute too!

Another nice card from Carlton. A lovely, bright card to keep on standby for an occasion.

This sweet card is by Bryony Fripp via Camden Graphics for Carlton Cards. I've bought a couple of these before as the illustrations are really nice and the gems and tip-ons are quite elegant.

This is some nice type from the "Typo" range by Bluebell 33. I'm looking forward to seeing more from them!

Lastly, hooray for me for starting my blog and writing three posts in one week! I've really enjoyed this one so I intend to continue posting pictures of great greetings cards as and when I see them. Up next will be a review of my favourite cards that I received for my birthday recently.
