Monday Mention

Hi All, it's time I used my blog again and I’d like to start by giving a shout out to two awesome fellow creatives. I’ll call this the “Monday Mention” and I’ll aim to get this out on as many Mondays as possible, but at least once a month. This is about sharing the love and finding new inspiration. What a nice way to start a Monday! This week I’m featuring two Katies/Katys and no it’s not a theme! 😜

Ps I promise that the blog will start looking a bit prettier soon. I mean I am a designer! Bear with ...

First of all I’d like to introduce you to Katie Miller of Katie Ruby Illustration. I love Katie’s quirky, illustration style and loose typography. She’s a talented designer and illustrator with a brilliant sense of humour . She has created some award winning work and sells a range of hilarious cards and gifts. Check out her portfolio website with links to her cards for sale. Outside of her client work Katie also has a lush project that she works on in the evenings, “The Punderful World of Cats!” It’s totally puntastic and if you’re a fan of cats you’ll definitely love it! Katie’s wonderful cat pun products can be purchased from her Etsy store.

Katie is also a lovely, friendly person. As a newbie freelancer I introduced myself in a Facebook freelance group and she reached out to me in case I needed any help or advice. I took her up on her offer and she has been so incredibly helpful and given me a real insight into the world of the freelance illustrator! Thanks Katie xx

Next I’d like to introduce you to Katy Clemmans, whom I met (virtually), several years ago when we were both enrolled on a surface pattern course. Katy is a multi-talented designer, creating graphics, impactful branding and beautiful surface pattern designs that are available to licence. To see here most recent project check out her portfolio. Katy sells her art prints and stationary products at Not on The High Street.

Over the years I have enjoyed watching Katy's style evolve and was recently impressed to find out that she had created this gorgeous font Bakehouse that I just love! Creating a font is a labour of love and something I aspire to do one day. Katy has also been really helpful recently in answering some questions I’ve had and sharing some tips. Thanks Katy xx

If you like to be featured on the Monday Mention, please contact me via my website. Happy Monday and have a great week!
